Box Office Gross Estimates for 10/29-06

Filed under: Uncategorized — Scott King at 9:35 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2006

Cheap gore ruled the box office this weekend as the “Saw” franchise claimed number one for the third year in a row. For such low budget films, Lions Gate really does well off them. The second movie, which cost $4, opened at $31 million and claimed $87 million. So its safe to say LG has another money maker on their hands

In other news the 3D version of “Nightmare Before Christmas” pulled in $1.8 million. That’s good considering it’s only playing at 168 theaters. I know here in DC there are only two theaters that can play it and only one in Baltimore. I’m actually excited to see this so Sarah and I are going tomorrow. We figure its a good way to spend Halloween

Continue after the break to see the box office chart.
