“Heroes” Update with Spoilers

Last night was the first episode of ?Heroes? that I was disappointed with.
Spoilers beware?
I first mentioned last nights episode about three or so weeks ago when I first found out that there would be a flashback episode. I was excited, thinking it would really flesh things out and that we?d learn a lot, but instead it just felt like filler. Even more annoying was the fact that they kept the same cliff hanger ending from the previous episode. That?s the bullcrap ?Lost? pulled in their 3 part second season premier and no one liked the fact that they did that.
The big twist of last night was the reveal of Sylar and it was pretty bland. The writers tried to spin the character so that he wasn?t pure evil or bent on becoming uber powerful. Instead he?s a geek who has the ability to see flaws in things. Thus he sees a flaw the brains of anyone with a power and is compelled to fix it. That?s right? Sylar isn?t evil he just has OCD.
This does bring up the issue of where the powers originate. In the past three episodes there have been talks about genetic markers, but it has also been hinted that the eclipse in the season premier was also related to everyone gaining powers.
Another thing we learned last night was that Jessica was Nikki?s twin sister. It seems their father choked Jessica to death and would beat Nikki. This of course makes Nikki?s power even more confusing. Everyone thought she just had a split-hulk-like personality but now it seems more like she can channel the dead. Or maybe Nikki isn?t the one with power. Maybe Jessica had the power to enter other peoples minds so when she died she used her power to share Nikki?s body. Or? the whole thing is a big mess and its impossible to guess what her power is.
Who else is annoyed with Hiro being able to speak English? In the season premier he couldn?t and now he manages fine. Well rumor has it that NBC execs put their foot down and told the show that Hiro needed to use more English, so at least for this you can blame NBC not the show itself.
Upcoming spoilers:
-I already mentioned that first new Dr. Who, Christopher Eccleston, will be appearing on the show, but I have since learned that his character has had his powers a lot longer than anyone else and will end up helping Peter control his powers.
-Speaking of Peter, he won?t be in jail for long. In fact he should be out by the end of next episode.
-If you listened to the promo for next week you already know someone will die in the Fall Final of ?Heroes.? Someone will be killed and someone will be sacrificed. Here?s a hint: (It?s not Peter or Hiro. Also, remember that in next week?s episode Sylar will most likely be escaping from Horned Rimmed Glasses? custody.)
-There are two more deaths coming in the near future. All of them have been planned form the start but one of the deaths was supposed to come at around episode 18, but because of a contractual problem it will happen earlier.
-A family will be held hostage and the person doing it is someone completely unexpected.

Oh, and Sylar IS an evil genious, or mad scientist. He doesn’t try to FIX people - he opens them up to somehow take their powers. Didn’t you notice that he didn’t have any powers except for understanding how things work, then once he killed the first powered person he got that guy’s ability? The professor explained to Sylar that the brain was where it all worked - where it came from, and so he takes that out by popping up the hood, so to speak, on the powered people and somehow adding that thing to himself.
