Sarah and I spent the day today doing ?free stuff? as she likes to call it. We packed a picnic using free-food she got from work. Then we drove to the National Arboretum. We spent a freaking HOUR waking around in the 70-degree-heat and then sat down and ate lunch.

It?s been years since I?ve been to the Arboretum. The last time was when I was a little boy and I found it very very boring. I guess I?ve not changed because I once again found it very very boring.

It?s just plants! That?s it. The ONLY thing that was even semi-cool were the Romanesque columns. They used to be part of The Capital, but were moved to the Arboretum decades ago.

After that we went to the cemetery near the Arboretum and I showed Sarah my grandmother?s grave. It had been a very long time since I had seen Granny so it was really cool. Also, I was shocked that I remembered where her grave was since the cemetery is huge and I?ve not been there in over ten years.

From there we went to The Mall. Like where the museums are in DC, not a mall mall. We both wanted to go to the American History Museum ?cause neither of us has been there since we were little, but oddly enough it?s closed till the summer of 2008, because it is being remolded.

So we checked out this lame place that had stuff from the French-Indian War. It was boring. We literally walked in, did a big circle, and walked out. I mean we were in there for like 10 minutes but we literally didn?t read a single thing or look at a single thing. We just talked.

From there we did the Air & Space Museum. It?s a favorite of mine. Though we were shocked because major exhibits from the American History Museum are on display at the Air & Space Museum during the renovations process!

carriesputers.jpgIt totally made my day because we got to see the C3P0 and R2D2 costumes used for the original Star Wars Trilogy. Then we saw the puffy shirt from ?Seinfeld? and Carrie?s computer from ?Sex and The City.? I mean it was freaking awesome! If I ever own my own museum that?s the kind of stuff I would put in it. There were tons of other stuff we saw, but those were the ones that I got super excited about.

After that we had a snack and then headed back home. We chilled for a bit and then Sarah made vegan-sushi and a tofu stirfry.

Today was a good day.
