Better Ways To Have Ended Marvel’s Civil War

And now a guest post by Lisa of Neptune Comics.

Here are my alternate endings for Civil War. They’re all silly! Almost as silly as the way they really ended it.

- Cloak accidentally teleports 24’s Jack Bower into the Marvel Universe. Jack is carrying two nuclear bomb brief cases. Unfortunately, as he falls to the ground the nukes go off, destroying the Marvel Universe in a large nuclear explosion, along with Jack Bower. This leads to a later 24/New Avengers crossover.

- Scarlet Witch appears within the crowd of Marvel characters fighting and shouts, “You’re All Mutants,” reversing the outcome of House of M as well as altering the face of the Marvel Universe until the next event undoes it all once again.

- Captain America takes the killing blow, severing Tony’s head, only to discover that he’s actually a cloned Tony Stark. As the other heroes fight, we see more cloned characters. Turns out that the entire thing was manufactured by Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards as a joke on Captain America/Steve Richards and all of the other characters are actually clones.

- Suddenly Loki, god of mischief and brother of Thor, pops out of the crowd of fighting characters. We find out he orchestrated the entire thing to free himself and other trouble makers from the Negative Zone prison. Spider-Man/Peter Parker reminds Loki that he owes him a favor, just as Thor appears, ready to smack the hell out of his trouble-making brother. With that, Loki waves his hands and we return to the filming of the reality show, where no-one blows up, never causing the need for government to decide to require super heroes to register their identities.

- We see a shot of Emma standing over a slumped Professor X, out in the jungle of some other planet. She shakes him repeatedly, saying “wake up Professor, wake up.” We find out that controlling Scarlet Witch back in House of M was so exhausting that he fled to another planet to sleep it off, and the whole Civil War was just a dream of his, where society stops asking only mutants to register and instead asks all costumed folks to register.

Sorry Tom, but I cannot accept your generous offer. I would rather be poor and work in my comic book store than dwell in the Marvel Utopia that Tony Stark has built.

Dang it Tom, stop calling me. Seriously, I do not want to work for your stupid company. Besides that, New York is a cool place to visit, but I could never live there.
