“Death: High Cost of Living” Movie

Things are moving closer to production for Neil Gaiman’s “Death: The High Cost of Living” adaptation. The movie, which is based on the comic book mini-series, will be directed by Gaimen and produced by Guillermo del Toro. In a recent interview, Gaiman had this to say:
You can have many different types of executive producer … what Guillermo really wants to do is be there as a safety net for me. We’re talking right now about me going out to the Hellboy 2 set and spending a while just shadowing Guillermo, talking to his crew, getting an idea of why he does what he does. Interrogating him, getting in the way… This is the Guillermo del Toro two-week film school, which really does sound absolutely fucking awesome.
It also seems that casting hasn’t been decided yet. Rumors have been swirling that Selma Blair would be Death, but she says that’s not true:
I wanted to play Death for a long time and on the first one [Hellboy], people would see me and go, “Oh my God, you have to play Death, you have to play Death! I didn’t know if Guillermo [del Toro] was doing Death at the time and I don’t think he knew for sure that he’d be teaming up with Neil [Gaiman] for that or helping Neil out, and he’d say, “Yeah, yeah, good, Selma, you’d be good for Death!” and then just crickets…crickets.
