Avoid “LOST: Via Domus”

Filed under: Lost, TV, Video Games — Scott King at 5:42 pm on Friday, June 13, 2008

I decided to rent “Lost: Via Domus” and man is it a bad game. Now don’t get me wrong, I never expected it to be a great game or even a good game, but I had hoped that with writers from the show and the real actors doing the voice work it would at least be an “ok” game. The biggest problem (other than lack of story) is that the gameplay is in the vein of “Kings Quest” and “Monkey Island” but the puzzles lack any skill or intelligence. They are nothing more than fetch quests.

My One “Lost” Theory

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 10:51 am on Friday, May 30, 2008

There are lots of theories floating around about last night’s episode. I even spent over 2 hours  (updated) 4 hours discussing it with someone. However I only have one big theory I want to share and I’ll post it after the break… (Read on …)

Happy “Lost” Day

There has been crazy time travel this season and I hope tonight’s 2 hour finale clears up on who and when and where its been happening.

“Lost” & “Grey’s Anatomy” Gain Extra Hour!

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, Lost, TV — Scott King at 10:56 am on Monday, April 14, 2008

The producers of “Lost” convinced ABC that the 2-hour season finale really needs to be 3 hours long. They also insisted that the final 2 hours HAD to air back-to-back. Because of this, ABC had to re-do their may schedule and decided to give us an extra hour of “Grey’s.” The schedule looks like this:

May 15
8 pm: Ugly Betty
9 pm: Grey’s Anatomy
10 pm: Lost (part 1 finale)

May 22
8 pm: Ugly Betty finale
9-11 pm: Two-hour Grey’s Anatomy finale

May 29
8 pm: Lost encore (part 1 finale)
9-11 pm: Two-hour Lost finale

“Lost” vs “Battlestar Galactica”

Filed under: BattlestarGalactica, Lost, TV — Scott King at 12:26 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2008

Watched the two “Battlestar Galactica” specials that are airing all this week on Sci-Fi channel. In the first, the show’s producers basically talk about how smart they are. In the second some tv celebrities/personalities talk about how they obsess over the show. You know what I thought when watching both specials? That “Lost” kicks “Galactica’s” fraking ass!

Daniel Dae Kim on “Angel”

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 8:57 am on Thursday, March 27, 2008

Josh Holloway isn’t the only “Lost” cast member to have appeared on “Angel.” Daniel Dae Kim appeared in 12 episodes as an evil lawyer named Gavin.

Man it’s Thursday and I’m totally depressed because “Lost” isn’t on.

Alvar Hanso Alive?

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 11:09 pm on Monday, March 24, 2008

Re-watched last week’s episode of lost and is it just me or did the old man in the hospital bed next to Micheal’s look like Alvar Hanso, the founder of the Hanso Foundation?

Josh Holloway was on “Angel”

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 10:15 am on Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Since I’ve almost finished re-watching all seven seasons of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” I decided to add “Angel” to my Netflix queue. I was shocked when I watched the series permier and Josh Holloway showed up as a vampire. He only had a few lines and was killed within five minutes, but it was seriously sureal to see Sawyer as a vampire!

“Lost” Season Four Update

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 12:26 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2008

So here is what is going on… the current season will run for a total of thirteen episodes. Eight are already done and five more will be written and then air in April/May. This means that after the current run of seven episodes (they picked seven since the eighth episode has a large cliffhanger they don’t want to last for several weeks) the show will start up again on April 24th to air the final six episodes of the season. Crazier still is that when “Grey’s Anatomy” returns on May 1st, “Lost” will be bumped to 10p.m. timeslot. Obviously ABC is trying to take out CBS’s night.

Lost: Sawyer Nickname Generator

Filed under: Lost — Scott King at 1:52 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Pop Candy is on a roll today cause it just pointed out “Sawyer’s Nickname Generator.” All you have to do is go here, answer three quick questions and then you’ll find out what Sawyer would call you if you were one of the Losties. Personally, I’m very content with “Lightbulb” as my name. I mean anything is better than “butterball.”

“The Daily Show” Writes Other Shows

Filed under: Heroes, Lost, TV — Scott King at 11:54 am on Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Saw this on Pop Candy, New York Magazine talked to striking writers and had them write mock scripts for other shows. The feature is pretty lame except for “The Daily Show’s” take on 13 other shows. A sample of which can be seen below:

  • Lost - It turns out the island is actually a peninsula. Boy, are they embarrassed.
  • Heroes - The power to keep track of all the new heroes becomes way rarer than invisibility or time travel. Seeking to scrimp on budgets, NBC rolls out an entirely special-effects-free spinoff called Bystanders.
  • How I Met Your Mother - The show takes a dark and unexpected turn when Ted’s children are conceived, but then aborted.
  • Pushing Daisies - Attempting to revive his strike-threatened show, Ned decides to “touch himself.” Unfortunately, he enjoys it so much he touches himself again, killing the series for good.

“Eli Stone” and Oceanic Airlines

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 4:43 pm on Friday, February 1, 2008

The ABC affiliate here in DC didn’t air the Oceanic Airlines commercial. That’s the commercial that was touted all week long so that “Lost” fans would watch “Eli Stone” to see it. How F*ed up is that? They trick people into watching a new show and then don’t even give them what they promised to give them. Instead the Oceanic Airlines commercial was cut for an Oprah promo!

Thank goodness for the internet. If you were like me and missed the promo then you can watch the You Tube video above. However… other than pointing to find815.com (a “Lost” viral site that has been known for about a month) I can’t figure out any significance to the commercial.

“Lost” Pop-Ups

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 12:47 am on Thursday, January 31, 2008

I was only going to watch the re-airing of last year’s season finale of “Lost” so I could have on some background noise, but once the episode started I was glued to my TV. Just like the old “pop up videos” from the 90’s the whole two hour episode of lost was stuffed with random facts. Sometimes they were jokes. Sometimes they were odd facts. Sometimes they were just weird. But I totally enjoyed it! For those of you who didn’t watch here is a nice example:

This episode is entitled “Through The Looking Glass” a reference to the book by Lewis Carroll, his sequel to “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland” and a story that explores the theme of mirror opposites. Currently, Jack is in great despair, a mirror opposite of Jack, the leader on the island that we have come to know and love.

My only question about it was “Who wrote these?” Were these written pre-strike? Were they done by some marketing or PR person who isn’t a WGA member? I mean some of the pop-ups were so anal you’d think only a hardcore fan or writer of the show could have actually written them.

“Lost” Via Domus Achievements

“Lost” is back for an eight episode run, starting this week and come February you can chill with the Losties on Xbox! So far the plot of the game is being kept very hush-hush. Writers from the show worked on the script and the game takes place during the events of season 1 and season 2. Some major settings include the plane crash, the caves, the beach camp, the shipwreck, and the hatch. After the break I have a full list of all the xbox game’s achievements: (Read on …)

Multiple Endings on “Lost”

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 12:11 pm on Sunday, January 13, 2008

Mathew Fox says in the new Entertainment Weekly that multiple endings have been filmed for episode 8 of “Lost.” The episode was supposed to have a big cliff hanger that would be resolved the following week, but because of the writers strike it will most likely be the season finale.

Lost Recap

Filed under: Lost, TV — Scott King at 2:01 pm on Monday, January 7, 2008

Don’t forget, “Lost” returns for 8 episodes starting January 31st (but be prepared because producers have said that episode 8 ends on a MAJOR cliff hanger that was only supposed to be left hanging for a week, not for a full season) and to help you get caught up, ABC has posted an 8 minute recap of the show’s first three seasons.

Damon Lindelof on the Strike

Filed under: Lost, WGA Strike — Scott King at 10:13 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2007

I’m sure you guys are getting tired of me posting about the WGA Strike so often, but about 70% of the things I regularly post about are TV Spoilers or TV news and because of the strike there is nothing new to post about since just about ever television show has shut down production. So either you get Strike Coverage or about 70% less posts.

Anyway, here is an awesome op-ed by “Lost’s” Damon Lindelof that ran in the New York Times:

TELEVISION is dying.

I should have realized this four years ago when I first got my TiVo box, but denial is always the first stage of grief. I simply couldn’t acknowledge that this wonderful invention heralded the beginning of the end. (Read on …)
