The 2006 Emmy's

emmyawards.bmp

The Emmy’s are this weekend (Sunday on NBC). A lot of people are upset about them because they tried a new nomination system and it backfired. Normally there is a panel that goes through and decides which shows should be nominated. This year members of the academy voted and a panel narrowed down the final list.

The result of this year’s nominations were a slap in the face to many people. The new system was supposed to help underdogs like Lauren Graham (“Gilmore Girls”) get nods, but for some reason the final panel made some bad picks. They decided to honor long time actors for life time stuff as opposed to the things they are doing now.

Instead of going through and sharing who I think will win like most people seem to do, I’m going to go through and select who I think SHOULD win. I know you think that this sounds like the same thing, but it isn’t.

You see when guessing who will win you must take into consideration that The Emmy’s (like the Oscars) are a popularity contest. So when making a guess you need to think about who the members will vote for as opposed to who actually deserves it.
