Wii for Cheap

wii.jpg

Vice President of EA games, David Gardner, has said that he thinks Nitendo’s new system, Wii, will sell for around $170 US dollars!

"I've heard when in Japan that the North American price is about $170, but I don't know if the price has been set in Europe yet," Gardner said. "They've made a choice which is great for the consumer. Now we're going to have a choice whereby consumers can buy a Wii, plus one other console."

This is crazy. Let me put it in perspective for non gamers. The X-box 360 is at XXXX and the Playstation 3 is expected to be sold for around $600 because of the blu-ray player. For past systems the SNES (“Super Nitendo”) sold for $200 fifteen years ago.

Nitendo has been quiet on announcing a price for Wii and hasn’t even announced a date for when the system will go on sale. The only thing it has said is that Wii will cost less than $250 and that they plan to sell 6 million units by next March.
I have yet to truly decide which game system I'm going to go with, but if the Wii is so cheap, I don't see how I can pass it up.
