Box Office Estimates 9/10-2006
The big news this week isn’t which film was number 1 at the box office, but the fact that not one movie hit $10 million. The top 10 films didn’t even break $50 million!
Last year at this time, “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” hit theaters and drummed up $30 million, just by itself. Compared to 2005 the numbers are down 26 percent and compared to last weekend they are down 31 percent.
I also want to point out that "Little Miss Sunshine," by far the best film of summer, is still doing well. Word of mouth has helped it hit $41 million. I know that's not a huge number but for an indie movie its great.
Continue after the break to see the top 21 films.
