Venture Bros/Scooby Doo Crossover
Had my first bit of free time today and caught up on three episodes of “The Venture Bros.” Man I love this show. I’m sad that the second season is ending soon and we are going to have to wait a while before the third season starts.
Out of the three episodes I watched today the one that stood out the most was “Viva los Muertos!” The premise isn’t important but a running subplot was having realistic “Scooby Doo” characters.
The leader of the group was named Ted (Fred). He was an ascot wearing, gun toting psycho that would keep Patty (Daphne) locked in the closet when she was bad. Val (Velma) was a man-hating lesbian who had a thing for Val and chained smoked. Sonny (Shaggy) was addicted to pain killers called “groovy snacks,” which makes sense since his dog was named Groovy (Scooby).
If you hadn’t checked out “The Venture Bros.” you really need to! Download an episode off iTunes, get the first season from Netflix, watch it on Adult Swim! Or do whatever else you need to try out the show.
