I miss Ocean City MD though oddly enough this region of Texas is a lot like home, just cooler and less humid.\u00a0One of the things that they dont&#8217; have down here on the Gulf Coast are Thrasher Fries. If you have ever been to Ocean City then you know what I&#8217;m talking about.<\/p>\n<p>So I whipped up a batch of homemade boardwalk fries and served them with vinegar. The trick was to flash fry them for a few seconds at a really high temperature in peanut oil, let them cool, and then slow fry them again. They aren&#8217; exactly up to Thrasher&#8217;s quality but they are probably the closest I&#8217;ll get to in Texas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I confess I&#8217;ve been a tad homesick.
