They are never just &#8220;Route 6&#8221; or something simple, which you can hear in the short video above.<\/p>\n<p>Even odder is that at some point they simply stopped naming roads. Instead they started to number them. So an exit off the highway might be &#8220;County Road 4231&#8221; and the next exit might be &#8220;County Road 4233.&#8221; It can be really confusing to both the GPS and the one driving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The road names in Texas are whacky, or at least they are where we are near the gulf.
