This is my first attempt at using the Canon 70mm-200mm F2.8 IS II that I’m renting for 10 days. Holy crap is it heavy! Other than having to stand pretty far away to get such a close-up, it was AWESOME to use.
The biggest problem I had is that because the soup was fresh it quickly wilted the parsley on top so I had to swap that out within minutes, but otherwise I think the shoot was simple and turned out nice.
As for tricks, the only sneaky thing I did was put an upside down ramekin in the center of the bowl. I used it to prop-up some of the crabmeat since otherwise it wouldn’t be visible.
