One of the coolest people I got to meet and hangout with at BoardGameGeek.Con was Ignancy Trzewiczek. Ignancy is a designer and head of Portal Games. He had a booth at BGG.Con but because of shipping errors his games hadn’t arrived. In the vlog video above he recounts the tale of the missing games and how we ended up finding them.
The only thing Ignancy left out is a part he didn’t know. After we waited for over an hour trying to find the truck with his games I decided to go off on my own. I circled the entire exterior of the hotel, which wasn’t easy because the hotel is smack dab in the middle of the DFW Airport which meant it was a maze of roads, highways, and parkinglots. I even got in trouble with security! It was worth it however because at the wrong loading port I found the truck carrying Ignancy’s games. The reason we hadn’t found the truck before then (Other than it being in the wrong place) was because the driver was sleeping and had missed all the phone calls his boss had given him. It’s a shame that Ignancy had to deal with the stress of the whole situation but in the end it made for a very lively morning.
Semi-related: My massive blog post with photos from BGG.Con is coming soon. I have the photos processed, but I’ve not had internet at home for almost a week (this is being posted via my phone). So as soon as I can upload photos I’ll post them!
